Our diverse ecosystem consists of student-led and university-run entrepreneurial activities, plus all kinds of partners, researchers and established companies on site. We have a strong network to support startup growth.

At A Grid, you can also find extensive business services to help your startup succeed. Business Espoo is a service network for companies and entrepreneurs supporting the vitality of businesses by offering the best, continuously developing services in one place. They provide advice on starting and developing a business, finding competent workers, international recruitment, internationalisation and growth. Business Espoo strengthens expertise within companies through training and helps companies and investors find the right contacts.

ACRE maintains, develops and leases Aalto University's facilities in Otaniemi and Töölö. Our goal is to create a campus that goes beyond being just a place for studying and working.

While A Grid is designed for startups, ACRE helps you take the next step with the right premises across the campus – offices, laboratories, retail spaces, and coworking. Grow without leaving the ecosystem, and stay close to the talent, research, and partners that power your business.

Aalto University has significant research infrastructure open for everyone. It includes world-class research facilities for micro- and nanotechnology, neuroimaging, and bioeconomy. There are also excellent resources for computational research, radio astronomy and space research. In addition, Aalto Studios facilitate film and TV, games and animation, VR/AR, product- and user experience testing, sensor data-analysis and fast prototyping.

You don’t need to be a member to join in on the fun! We offer unique and edgy event spaces whether it’s a meeting, workshop, conference or a party.

When you wish to host an event with us, our professional Facility Sales team is here to help you with all event arrangements.

Restaurant Factory is located in A Grid in the G wing of the ground floor, with picturesque views over Ossinlampi. The restaurant offers delicious and healthy buffet lunch with its abundant choices to people working at A Grid as well as other lunch-goers.

Catering is also available.

Operating in the A Grid lobby, The Factory Self-service Café serves you fresh coffee, beverages, small snacks, sandwiches, smoothies and some goodies according to the opening hours of A Grid. The products are available on the café table and on the cold display. You choose the product you want from the counter and pay the purchase by Mobile Pay.

A startup hub needs a sauna – and we have two! This is where all the deals get done and where the major sporting events can be watched from within the sauna – yes, it has a giant screen and speakers inside!

Shared spaces

In addition to your own private office, you also get to enjoy many other spaces and services at A Grid.

Need to photograph your products, create a prototype or organize an event? We’ve got you covered! The Makerspace, located on the 1^st floor in the G wing, is run by our friends at Omnia and provides you with the space and equipment you need to make great things happen.

Our makerspace offers a studio so you can film, photograph or design something for your company. You can also host workshops, seminars or other classes or sessions. We also have several 3D printers, laser cutter, vinyl printer and virtual reality setup for you to test and enjoy.

The Northern C wing just behind Café Factory on the first floor of A Grid, The Burrow, serves as a lounge and meeting point for the whole A Grid community.

The Burrow consists of the common lounge and kitchen area at the front of the wing, office spaces, and an exercise space, Health Corner, located at the back of the wing. The Health Corner serves all A Grid members as a place of health and wellbeing. You can pop in to take a moment for yourself during the workday or start or end your day with a workout.

There is also a small exercise area located on the corridor of the 2nd floor leading to the I wing.

Each office wing has its own joint kitchen and lounge area where you can relax and recharge, and meet your office neighbours.

How about a meeting in Uranus or a workshop in Yoda?

You can also utilize A Grid's meeting rooms for an inspiring meeting or workshop. We have 19 meeting rooms and 5 flexible and large workshop spaces, all equipped to tingle your brain cells in the most stimulating ways. Phone booths are also available in the corridors.

To support an active lifestyle, there are several shared shower and locker rooms on the ground floor of A Grid.
